Scrapyard Challenge Workshops, 2003 – present, Workshop co-founder and co-lead with Jonah Brucker-Cohen. Participants build electronic interactive objects out of found materials and junk. Workshops have been held over across five continents for diverse organizations. The workshop includes 3 different themes: MIDI Scrapyard Challenge where participants build simple musical controllers, DIY Wearable Challenge with an emphasis on wearable technology, and the DIY Urban Challenge with a focus on public space interventions.

Build Your Own Bioreactor, Workshop organizer and leader with Angelo Vermeulen, Participants designed and built green algae bioreactors using simple, and mainly recycled and re-used materials such as aeration systems, lights and glassware. Topics covered included basic plant biochemistry, photosynthesis, and the use of algae as biofuel and food source.
